When do applications open and close?
Applications for Sports are open from January 10 through January 30, 2022.
What's on the application?
For each prompt, the application consists of questions regarding you and your project, along with areas for you to upload:
-
A 30-second video of you pitching yourself and your project (see the application for the specific prompt)
-
A full-length screenplay or teleplay that showcases your writing ability
-
A link to a previously produced work of yours (if applicable)
Additionally, prior to submitting your application, you must read and sign the Impact x Skydance Submission Release.
Uploading the video and sample written work and signing the Submission Release are required. You cannot submit an application without them.
Can I submit more than one application?
No, only one full application can be submitted per prompt, per person/team.
Can I submit an idea that I submitted for a previous Impact program?
Yes.
Do I have to submit an idea that I’ve already written a draft of?
No, it is not required to have already written a draft of the project that you are submitting.
Can there be producers or talent already attached to my project?
No.
Can my project be an adaptation of a novel/short story/graphic novel/etc. that I have optioned?
No.
Can my project be an adaptation of my own published work?
Yes.
Can my project be based off of public domain story?
Yes.
Can my project be animated?
No, your projects must be live-action based. A project that needs CGI and/or other visual effects is also acceptable.
How long should my application answers be?
You should use as much space as you need to answer each question.
Will each prompt have the same application questions?
No. Though there are core questions asked on every Impact application, each application will be tailored to the specific prompt.
Do my application and all attached materials need to be in English?
Yes.
How will my application be evaluated?
Every application is read blindly by a certified Impact reader and evaluated without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran or disability status.
Applications are assessed on the creative and commercial merit of the idea submitted, the strength of the writing sample submitted, and Impact’s assessment of the writer’s capacity to work with Skydance on further developing the project.
Can I submit an idea that does not fit under the prompt?
No, we are only accepting submissions for the given prompts.
Will any prompts be for feature films?
No, we are only seeking television series under this partnership.
