Network messaging is a great way to stay directly connected with other crew on the Impact network. You can use it to check others’ availability, respond to incoming job opportunities, set up general meetings, ask questions, and generally keep in touch with your connections.
How To Direct Message a Connection
To get started, log in to the Impact network and select the message bubble next to your profile icon at the top right-hand side of the screen. This will take you to your message dashboard.
Alternatively, you can select the Connections tab at the top-left of the screen to view all your connections. To send a message, you must first add someone as a connection. You can immediately “Check Avail” in the form of a network message from the Connections tab, or select the individual you would like to message, and then select the “Message” button next to their profile icon.
From the message dashboard, you can view all your messages, search keywords, view Incoming Jobs Opps, and jobs you’re Hiring for. You can also see when a connection is typing back!
To start a new message, select the yellow message bubble at the bottom left-center of the screen. Begin to type the name of your connection in the “To” line. Select their name, and begin typing your message.
Creating Group Chats
You have the ability to individually message connections or create group chats. To create a group chat, begin to type the names of the connections you would like to add to the chat, and select all their names in the “To:” line. Feel free to edit the name of your group chat at any time by selecting the ellipses in the message tab. A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to “Rename Group Chat.” At this time, you are not able to add or remove connections from a group chat.
Worried that one of your connections may not see your Avail Check DM? Don’t fret! Avail Checks sent in the form of network messages will also be sent to your connections in the form of an email! Consider network messaging your one-stop shop to directly get in contact with other crew on the Impact network.
Please note: When you send an avail check to one of your connections, you will not be able to send or receive any other message to or from that person until they either accept or deny your request.
And there you have it on network messaging! If you have any further questions or have a particular concern that was not addressed in this article, please reach out to Impact Support.
